General Comments
I have been in the private practice of law since my admission to the California State Bar in 1976. I am certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization, a designation requiring extensive trial and other experience, demonstrated knowledge of family law, and a solid reputation. I have been recognized for excellence by inclusion in Martindale Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys and in Northern California Super Lawyers 2004, 2005, and 2006.
I have a strong commitment to helping clients resolve disputes without going to court, whenever possible. I have been a divorce mediator since 1985. In addition to my membership in CP East Bay, I am a founder and past chair (2002 to 2004) of the Collaborative Law Association of Contra Costa, and the Chairperson (2004 to 2006) of Collaborative Practice Group of Contra Costa (CPGCC). I am active in regional and statewide Collaborative organizations, including the Northern California Public Education Committee, and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
A graduate of Colgate University, I received my law degree (Juris Doctor) with honors from Golden Gate University in 1976, where I served as Executive Editor of the Law Review. Peer recognition has been reflected in numerous leadership positions, including President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association Family Law Section (1997) and President of the statewide Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (1998).
