As a family psychologist in collaborative divorce I have continued to work since the mid-1990s as a coach, a writer, and presenter in collaborative divorce to (primarily) professional audiences. These present roles are outgrowths of a number of years of conducting child custody evaluations in (northern) California and 8 other states. This work also is informed by my past and continuing work in divorce counseling and prevention, assessment and psychotherapy (couple, family, individual, and group).
As a family psychologist divorce specialist: Many studies of divorcing families demonstrate that the first year post legal divorce is the most emotionally difficult, disturbing, and health disruptive of all divorce years! See my website for references. So, I am offering a new divorce psychological service, titled Divorce Recovery and Planning Ahead. It is for those who are completing or have completed the legal aspect of the divorce process. The group format provides psychological support in the present, helps loosen emotional ties with the past, and fosters practical, strength-based, positive actions for the future. A group (never more than 8) meets weekly for an hour and a half. A participant may conclude the group process in 3 to 6 months. Fees are based on a modified sliding scale with awareness of our stressed economy.
As a family psychologist, recognition in professional service roles:
I received the Eureka Award as a pioneer of Collaborative Divorce from the Collaborative Practice California inter-professional group in 2007. I am ABPP Board Certified in Clinical Psychology (ABCP) and Couple & Family Psychology (ABCFP). For ABCFP I am the (calendar) 2009 and 2010 President; we conduct examinations for those seeking Board Certification in Couple & Family Psychology.
For further information, e.g. copies of my recent chapters and articles on collaborative divorce and references to research noted above, visit my website (listed above. I invite initial contact through phone or email (listed above).
